A new Neurodiversity Clinical Experience Placement Programme has been launched to provide structured, supervised clinical experience for practitioners looking to develop their careers within specialist ADHD and neurodevelopmental services.
The three-month programme has been designed to bridge the gap between formal ADHD training and real-world clinical practice, giving practitioners the opportunity to build confidence, develop clinical competencies, and gain valuable experience alongside experienced specialists.

Many practitioners complete recognised ADHD training but seek additional supervised experience before progressing into independent clinical roles. This new placement programme aims to address that need by providing hands-on exposure to specialist neurodevelopmental services.
Participants will work alongside experienced clinicians across ADHD assessment pathways, gaining insight into clinical decision-making, multidisciplinary working, and patient-centred care within both NHS and private healthcare settings.
By the end of the programme, practitioners are expected to have strengthened their clinical confidence, expanded their practical skills, and developed competencies that support long-term career progression in neurodevelopmental care.
Flexible Learning Designed Around Busy Professionals
Recognising that many healthcare professionals balance existing employment and personal commitments, the programme has been developed with flexibility at its core.
Clinical learning is delivered remotely through online patient clinics operating seven days a week between 8:00am and 8:00pm, allowing participants to engage in learning opportunities that suit their schedules.
Optional face-to-face clinical placements are also available for practitioners wishing to gain additional in-person experience, although attendance is not compulsory.
Unlike traditional placement models, participants are not expected to reduce their working hours or commit to full-time attendance. Instead, they can progress through the programme at a pace that aligns with their availability while working towards their individual learning objectives.
